medcom.id, Jakarta: Human Rights Watch (HRW) urged archives about 1965 killings to be opened. They asked for support from the Indonesian government.

"We ask the Indonesian government to urge the US government to open those archives," said HRW executive director Kenneth Roth in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/13/2016).

Roth explained  similar measure has been taken to reveal the US involvement in Dirty War in Latin America. "This is important measure that should be taken by the Indonesian government," he added.

Moreover, Roth explained reconciliation should be conducted in parallel with truth finding effort. "These two are related. Reconciliation also must be carried out fairly," he affirmed.

Symposium on 1965 killings is going to be held on April 18-19.
