medcom.id, Jakarta: Prime Minister of Malaysia Najib Razak visited Jakarta this week to attend the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF).
In an exclusive interview with Metro TV, Najib talked about bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. He mentioned that he respects Indonesian workers in Malaysia.
"However, we want these workers to enter Malaysia according to the law," said Najib to Metro TV.
He argued illegal workers could cause social problems in his country. Moreover, they cannot get sufficient protection from the authorities.
Najib agreed with President Joko Widodo that Indonesian workers should improve their skills. Malaysia is ready to help the Indonesian government in this issue.
"We will identify the needs of the Malaysian companies," he stated.
Regarding economic relations between the two countries, Najib admitted that President Joko Widodo have made a lot of improvements.
"We see that Indonesia is more investor friendly now," he explained.
"Malaysian companies could involve (in infrastructure development in Indonesia). I see the prospect is great," he added.
