medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian Foreign Ministry has confirmed Turkish law enforcement officials arrested two Indonesian female students during anti-Gulen raid last week.
"Turkish officials arrested two Indonesian female students in Bursa city on August 11," said the ministry's director for protection of Indonesian citizens and legal entities Lalu Muhammad Iqbal in a statement, Friday (8/19//2016).
"The students are DP from Demak and YU from Aceh," Lalu continued.
He explained Indonesian Embassy has requested access to the students. The embassy also has asked clarification to the Turkish Foreign Ministry and has made contact with the prosecutor.
Previously, Turkish officials arrested one Indonesian student named Handika Lintang Saputra in Gaziantep province in June 2016 for having affiliation with Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen.
The Turkish government believes Gulen masterminded failed coup attempt in the country last month.
