Retno Visits Egypt, Discusses Trade Cooperation

medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi met with Egyptian International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr in Cairo on Sunday.
 
"Indonesia and Egypt agreed to reactivate the Ministerial-level Joint Commission bilateral mechanism to boost economic cooperation." Retno said after the meeting.
 
Retno addressed trade relations between the two countries. Retno revealed that import tariffs for Indonesian products are still quite high.

"We must find the bilateral mechanism that can reduce the tariffs," Retno mentioned.
 
Indonesia-Egypt trade for January-October 2016 reached USD1.23 billion. Indonesian investment in Egypt in 2016 reached USD50 million.
 
Retno will visit two more African countries this week. She will visit South Africa on February 6-7. She then will visit Mozambique on February 8.
