medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian Foreign Ministry has condemned North Korea's ballistic missile test that traveled over Japan's Hokkaido island.

The test took place on Tuesday early morning. The missile landed about 1,180km east of the island.

"Indonesia urges the North Korea to fully meet its international obligations," the ministry said in a written statement on Tuesday.

"Indonesia invites all countries to contribute to the promotion of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula," the ministry added.

The test violated a number United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, incuding 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016), 2356 (2017), and 2371 (2017). The missile threatened other Northeast Asian countries, especially Japan and South Korea.
