Indonesia Very Helpful to Us: Palestinian FM

medcom.id, Jakarta: Meeting between Indonesian and Palestinian Foreign Ministers in Jakarta today (12/14/2015) produced decision to open Indonesia's honorary consulate in Ramallah, West Bank.
 
The establishment of the honorary consulate was agreed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and her Palestinian counterpart, Riad al-Malki. Riad conveyed gratitude to Indonesia for the cooperation.
 
"The situation in Palestine is very hard. In Jerusalem, Palestinian citizens become victims especially children. Hundreds of people are killed," said al-Maliki in a press conference after the bilateral meeting.
 
"I am very satisfied with the establishment of Indonesia's honorary consulate in Ramallah in the begining of next year," he added.
 
Al-Maliki explained Indonesia always help Palestine to survive the harsh situation. "We want to build our country for the future. That is why we cooperate with Indonesia," he said.
 
Currently, Indonesia and Palestine has cooperation on technology and capacity building. At least 200 programs have been implemented.
 
Al-Maliki visited Indonesia to attend International Conference on the Question of Jerusalem held by United Nations in Jakarta. The international conference hopefully could produce positive result to solve the status of Jerusalem.
 
Jerusalem is claimed by Israel and Palestine. Until now, both countries cannot reach agreement about the issue.
