Indonesian Arrested for Joining Banned Movement in Turkey

medcom.id, Jakarta: An Indonesian citizen was arrested by Turkish authorities in Gaziantep. He was arrested along with two Turkish citizens on June 3.
 
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received information about the arrest. The ministry's director of citizen protection Lalu Muhammad Iqbal the Indonesian was arrested for joining Hizmet movement.
 
Hizmet is a social movement led by Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gulen. It has been prohibited in Turkey since 2014.

The Indonesian Embassy in Ankara has sent their staff to provide assistance. Lalu explained that Hizmet movement is sensitive issue in Turkey.
 
"We have met with him in prison. We also has contacted his relatives in Indonesia," he stated here, on Sunday (6/12/2016).
