Jakarta: The Communication and Informatics Ministry is committed to speeding up the development of the information technology industry in Indonesia.
Acccording to the newly appointed Minister of Communication and Informatics Johnny G Plate, he has in place some measures to speed up the development of information technology.
"There are some moves that need to be accelerated to proceed with the deregulation in the ministry," Plate said at the Presidential Palace here on Thursday, October 24, 2019.
The NasDem Party politician added that the ministry would also focus on other issues including data sovereignty, cyber security and cyber crime.
"The Communication and Informatics Ministry was not specifically discussed during the meeting. But there are some moves that need to be accelerated, to proceed with deregulation in the ministry," the former NasDem Party lawmaker said.
During the inaugural cabinet meeting, of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo directed cabinet members to ensure the smooth implementation of his five priority programs. He also focused on measures to create jobs.
"That should become the main focus, the goal of all the government's measures is to create jobs," he said. (Antara)
