Jakarta: Applying for online lending through fintech lenders is one solution to the needs of public funds. However, fintech lenders often find misuse of customers' data, such as the misuse of the access to personal data such as telephone numbers, photos, videos, and other things stored on the customers’ cell phones.
According to Chairman of Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) Tulus Abadi, the majority of misuse of consumer personal data comes from illegal online lending, which is around 70 percent, although there is also legal fintech lenders.
This can be a question in the public regarding the extent to which customer information and data limits can be accessed by fintech lenders according to OJK regulations as the supervisor of fintech lenders.
Responding to this, the President Director of PT Pembiayaan Digital Indonesia (AdaKami), Bernardino M. Vega Jr. explained that as a legal fintech lender that has a license and is supervised by the OJK, and also a member of the AFPI, AdaKami is only allowed to access the customer's CAMILAN data.
"AdaKami is only allowed to access the camera, microphone, and location (CAMILAN) data, as part of the verification steps for customer data," said Bernardino in a press release on Thursday.
Furthermore, Bernardino explained that AdaKami also has ISO27001 Certification for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). He said this certification is an international standard that is recognized globally, to manage risks to information security and data belonging to customers held by AdaKami.
"In carrying out business activities as a peer-to-peer (P2P) lending operator in Indonesia, we are committed to always maintaining the security of our customers' data and information," Bernardino said.
