Bank Customers Urged to Not Use Easy PIN Combination

Jakarta: The Jakarta Metro Police has advised bank customers to not use common personal identification number (PIN) combination.
 
“Never use your birth date. It is the easiest PIN combination,” Jakarta Metro Police spokesperson Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono said here on Friday.
 
The police official also urged the public to inform any unused debit cards or e-banking accounts. He explained that the move can prevent data manipulation.
 
“If you have unused e-banking accounts or ATM cards, you should destroy the cards or inform the banks," he noted.

Jakarta Police recently arrested two man who hacked an e-banking account.  Argo said that the two perpetrators stole over one billion rupiah from the victim's account. 
 
“The victim said his bank balance decreased in April. The victim did not use his e-banking account that month,” Argo stated. (Translator: Rifqi Akbar)
