Ministry Investigates Possible Leak of Social Security Data

Jakarta: The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics has said that the Directorate General of Informatics Application will investigate a possible leak of social security data involving the country's more than 270 million population.
 
According to the Ministry, the Directorate-General has yet to conclude whether or not the leak did in fact happen in a massive scale as what was reported.
 
"This conclusion is drawn after doing several steps of meticulous evaluations towards the circulating data," Dedy said in a written statement.

"Investigations will continue to be conducted thoroughly," Dedy added.
 
According to the spokesperson, the Ministry will also coordinate with related parties in order to prevent unwanted things.
 
Moreover, the Ministry has also ordered companies to better protect their data by adhering by adhering to existing regulations, as well as ensuring the security of their systems. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
