Ministry Opens Registration for Third Batch of Startup Studio Program

Jakarta: The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) opened registration for Batch 3 of the Startup Studio Program commencing this month.
 
"Startup Studio Indonesia aims to support a more highly competitive national start-up ecosystem. It provides equal access to knowledge, competence, and networking to early-stage start-ups all over Indonesia," Director General of Informatics Applications of Kominfo, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, noted in an official statement on Friday, July 16.
 
"We really hope that more start-ups from the local participate in Batch 3, so that more local youths perform at the national level," he stated.

Startup Studio Indonesia targets start-up businesses to gain access to quality resources for business development.
 
Registration for the third batch from July 15 to August 15 is open for start-ups that are in the bootstrap funding stage, angel round, pre-seed, seed, pre-series A, and series A.
 
Kominfo has prioritized start-ups in the six sectors of education, health, maritime, agriculture, tourism, and logistics.
 
The program is also open to start-ups that already have business traction for a minimum of three to six months and have gone through the ideation stage and been validated as a user.
 
Kominfo has outlined several administrative requirements, such as the start-ups should comply with legal requirements and their founders should be working full-time at the company. Start-ups should also be able to demonstrate potential on market fit by looking at the traction on active users’ graphic and retention rates.
 
Start-ups were also mandated to demonstrate the ability to scale up and have a path to scalability and profitability.
 
The Startup Studio Indonesia Program bore the theme of "More Brainstorming, Less Classes."
 
Kominfo will announce 15 selected participants on September 8. The start-up founders will then be trained and mentored by over 60 mentors comprising start-up practitioners in various business sectors.
