Jakarta: The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani ensures that the discussion of the Draft Bill on the Protection of Personal Data will be discussed transparently. The Personal Data Protection Bill will be discussed by the DPR Commission I.
"Do not cause public perception to become negative," said Puan at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
The government is requested to conduct a comprehensive socialization to the public regarding the Personal Data Protection Bill. So that in the future no community feels disadvantaged.
"This (discussion) must be open, but because of the nature of personal protection data, of course there are also many things that are not discussed to the public. That is what we hope to do," she said.
Minister of Communication and Information (Menkoinfo) Johnny G. Plate agreed that the discussion on the Personal Data Protection Bill will be conducted openly. This policy will not bring up information hoaxes in the community.
"We will hold a hearing. The academic paper has also been prepared and submitted," Johnny said.
