Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has inaugurated Major General TNI Djoko Setiadi as the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) head.
The inauguration ceremony was staged at the State Palace on Wednesday morning. The new agency was created by the current government in mid-2017.
Djoko served as the National Encyrption Agency (Lemsaneg) head for around seven years. He earlier held a number of positions in various government institutions.
Djoko graduated from the State Encyrption Academy (Aksara) in 1980. He then graduated from the Military Academy a year later.
BSSN is aimed to strengthen cyber security in the country. It is expected to prevent cyber security threats from either foreign and local actors.
