medcom.id, Jakarta: The Communication and Information Ministry is committed to verify online media to prevent provocative contents.
"We should verify online media," said Communication and Information Rudiantara in South Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon.
According to government data, there are as many as 43,000 active online media in Indonesia. However, there are only few registered online media in the country.
"We should carry out the policy," he added.
The government has formulated a number of rules and regulations. The ministry has consulted with several former Press Council officials.
"We can block online media without clear address, clear management and clear editorial structure," he stated.
