medcom.id, San Francisco: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to visit silicon Valley, San Francisco, the United States (US) on Wednesday (2/17) afternoon local time.
Jokkowi will visit technology companies like google, facebook and twitter as the government plans to develop digital economy and e-commerce industry in Indonesia.
"We already have roadmap until 2020. E-commerce is projected to reach USD130 billion," said Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara in San Fransisco, Tuesday (2/16) local time as quoted by Cabinet Secretary's official website on Wednesday (2/17/2016).
Rudiantara said the road map is currently being implemented. "Indonesia has become biggest digital country in the region," he said.
He added Jokowi will learn e-commerce industry in the US because the country has decades of experiences.
Besides big companies, Jokowi will also visit startups and incubators.
