medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Monument (Monas) is always crowded with visitors, especially on weekends and holidays.
However, the popular tourist site seems to be more crowded recently as Pokemon Go fever hits the capital.
"We can get many pokemons here," a young male named Chandra told Metrotvnews.com, on Sunday (7/18/2016) morning.
Besides Chandra, many youngsters can be found in the area. They closely watched their phones to find pokemons.
Unfortunately, their adventure must end as heavy rain covered the area in the afternoon.
Tourism Potential
The Jakarta Provincial Government has mentioned their intention to establish Monas and City Hall as Pokemon Go centers. They are ready to establish cooperation with Pokemon Go developers.
"We want to promote Monas and City Hall," said Jakarta Smart City unit head Setiaji recently.
"The idea is to promote our tourism through Pokemon Go. We hope Pokemon Go lovers can play in our places," he continued.
