Smartphone Producers Asked to Build Factories in Indonesia

medcom.id, Jakarta: The rising number of cellular manufacturers producing their products in Indonesia has shown that the country is becoming more attractive as an investment option. The factories also added employment opportunities and nearing these companies to their market.
 
"So far the manufacturers and principals have enjoyed Indonesian domestic market, pulling money from consumers. Now, it is time to invest and build cellphone factories," said Minister of Industry Saleh Husin in his written statement, Thursday (11/5/2015).
 
The activity of production in Indonesia, he continued, may be utilized by the manufacturer a one of the leading points in marketing their products to Indonesian consumers. On the other side, his party will educate the consumers about which cellphones are produced in Indonesia.

"So consumers know which cellphones have contributed to the Indonesian economy. We need to play the sentiments of proximity such as that," Saleh mentioned.
 
It is believed to also stimulate the cellphone principals in fabricating within Indonesia, as well as the manufacturers producing abroad, to conduct similar corporate actions. 
 
So far, Indonesia is a country with an extremely large population of cellphone users. It is seen from the high value of cellphone import, which have reached 60 million unit in 2014. 
 
"This year, up to September 2015, it is recorded by 26 million units. It shows the import of cellphone has started to be exchanged by the local production," elaborated the Director General of Metal, Machine, Transportation and Electronics Industry, I Gusti Putu Suryawirawan.
