Riandanu Madi Utomo • 15 December 2015 13:58
medcom.id, Jakarta: The smartphone market in Indonesia is blooming, but HP, as one of the main players in Indonesia's IT industry mentioned that they will not join the smartphone market yet.

It is mentioned directly by Melton Ciputra, the Consumer Notebook Category Market Development Manager of HP Indonesia, in between the latest release of HP's latest laptop today (12/14/2015).

"We are not backing down from the mobile gadget market, especially smartphones. We only have no 'deadly weapon' for the moment," mentioned Melton. "We all know that the mobile gadget market, especially the smartphones, has a very tight competition in Indonesia. Surely we can't go to battle without proper weapon and equipment."

Melton also mentioned that HP Indonesia currently is focusing on other products, such as desktop PC, laptop and printer. He thinks that it would be better for his side to strengthen its superior product lines for the moment, before preparing to join other lines.

In Indonesia alone, HP has already achieved well. They claim as a vendor currently ruling the printer market. Aside from that, they are one of the vendors having a large market share in desktop PC and laptop in Indonesia.
