medcom.id, Manila: Shell Eco-Marathon Asia (SEM) 2016 has opened since March 4, 2016, in Manila, the Philippines. there are six Indonesian teams participating in the competition.
There were 20 teams from Indonesia registered for the competition. However, only six teams fulfill the technical requirements.
“The six teams were able to complete the entire Technical Inspection aspects on Thursday (3/3)," mentioned Haviez Gautama, General Manager External Relations at PT Shell Indonesia, as quoted in a press release.
The six teams are Apatte 62 Team from Brawijaya University, ITS Team 2 from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Bengawan Team 1 and Team 2 from the University of Sebelas Maret Solo, Nakoela Team from the University of Indonesia and Rakata Team from the Bandung Institute of Technology.
Shell Eco-marathon was initially held in 1939 as a friendly competition between scientists to find out who is able to reach the furthest line with a gallon of fuel in the vehicle. The friendly match developed into the competition run by better management.
