Uber Officially Establishes Cooperative

medcom.id, Jakarta: Uber has announced its cooperative, Jasa Trans Usaha Bersama Cooperative, has received deed of establishment from Minister of Cooperatives and Small-Medium Enterprises AAGN Puspayoga last week.
 
In a written statement published on Saturday (3/19/2016), Uber also stated it has applied for vehicle road worthiness test whose process is still on going.
 
The company also stated they met with Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara last week to ensure they can operate in Indonesia without violating the regulations.
 
Last week, Thousands of public transportation drivers held demonstration demanding the government to ban online-based taxi service like Uber and Grab. The protesters claimed the service is illegal and violating regulations.
 
The government then advised Uber and Grab to establish cooperative to make their operation legal. Grabcar has established its cooperative earlier.
