Intelligence Chief Proposes Ban on Pokemon Go

medcom.id, Jakarta: National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Sutiyoso advised the government to block Pokemon Go. The mobile game is considered as a threat to national security.
 
"The game requires camera. If it is played in vital objects like military bases, police stations or intelligence offices, it can be threat for security. It can be used by foreign intelligences," he elaborated.
 
Sutiyoso admitted his agency does not have authority to block the game. He urged parents to be cautious.

"We don't have the authority. But, please consider the danger," he continued.
 
Pokemon Go is developed by Nintendo, Niantic and The Pokemon Company. It uses augmented reality (AR) technology which blends virtual and real life.
 
The government has prohibited public employees to play the game in the office. The National Armed Forces also has banned the game due to security reasons.
