medcom.id, Jakarta: On mid December, Google introduces the Launchpad Accelerator program to boost the growth of start-up in three developing countries, including Indonesia.
The program is aligned with plan of Indonesian government to produce 1,000 entrepreneurs within five years.
"Google will continue the start-up incubation program in Indonesia through the Google Launchpad," mentioned Sergey Brin, Google co-founder, during meeting with the Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara in Jakarta, Monday (12/28/2015).
With the Launchpad Accelerator program, Google hoped it can produce 200 start-up entrepreneurs annually.
Currently, one of the well known start-up entrepreneurs in Indonesia is Nadiem Makarim, the founder and CEO of Go-Jek. He was even invited by Rudiantara to visit the Silicon Valley last October.
Brin appreciated local start-up like Go-Jek. According to him, the application could change the lifestyle of Indonesian people. "It is hoped there will be more apps like Go-Jek to support the digital economy," mentioned Rudiantara.
