medcom.id, Jakarta: LINE Indonesia is pulling LGBT stickers that cause negative reaction from several religious figures. One of them is cleric Abdullah Gymnastiar who urged public to boycott the chatting application.
LINE Indonesia public relations head Teddy Arifianto confirmed that his company is pulling the controversial stickers. "LINE deplores the incident of several stickers deemed as sensitive," he said to Metrotvnews.com on Wednesday (2/10/2016).
"LINE respects all inputs from the users and others, as related to our products and features, as we are aware of the sensitivity of this issue," he added.
Teddy mentioned that his company will prevent such problem to happen again.
LINe actually is not the only company that has LGBT contents. Last year, Apple launched new emoticons including one that depicts same gender couple.
LGBT emoticons could also be found in WhatsApp. Facebook also provides a rainbow filter, which is intended as support towards LGBT.
