Jakarta: The Jakarta Provincial Government has decided to turn 13 regional public hospitals and 26 private hospitals into covid-19 referral hospitals.
"They are expected to only treat covid-19 patients," Jakarta Health Agency Head Widyastuti said here on Thursday.
"So, we are preparing these additional referral hospitals. Hopefully, we do not need to use these additional hospitals. If the hospitals are needed, they are fully ready," she explained.
The local government has also decided to recruit more health workers, including pulmonologists, internists, anesthesits, general practitioners, nurses, radiographers and lab staff.
"Applicants can register online," the Jakarta Health Agency's Disease Control and Prevention Dwi Oktavia said.
"They will work from October to December" she added.
According to the Joint Regional Defense Command I (Kogabwilhan-I) spokesperspon Marine Colonel Aris Mudian, the Covid-19 Emergency Hospital at the Kemayoran Athletes Village in Central Jakarta currently acommodates 4,361 covid-19 patients, comprising 2,407 patients with mild to moderate cases and 1,954 asymptomatic patients.
