Magnitude 6.3 Quake Jolts South Bolaang Mongondow Regency

Jakarta: 6.3 magnitude earthquake jolted waters south of North Sulawesi Province at 14.43 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) on Tuesday, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
 
According to the government agency, the strong earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.
 
With a depth of 94 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 42 kilometers southwest of Bolaang Uki, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi Province.

"The quake was strongly felt for 2-3 seconds in South Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Still no reports of damage or casualties. The quake did not trigger tsunami alerts," National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) official Agus Wibowo said on his twitter page this afternoon.
