Surabaya: East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa strongly believes that the covid-19 situation in East Java Province will continue to improve.
"As of Monday, The effective reproduction number (Rt) in East Java Province is 0.93," the former social affairs minister said here on Tuesday.
"Meaning, the covid-19 situation in the region is under control," she stated.
On Monday, The East Java Covid-19 Task Force confirmed 237 new covid-19 cases. As a result, the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in the province increased to 45,135.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, as many as 38,688 covid-19 patients in East Java have recovered from the disaese. Meanwhile, at least 3,302 people have succumbed to the virus.
On Monday afternoon, Tte National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,622 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 307,120.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 4,140 to 232,593.
