Sofia: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Bulgaria accredited to North Macedonia and Albania, Iwan Bogananta facilitated a meeting of the Indonesian Ministry of Investment with shareholders and potential Bulgarian Investors during the Harmonature festival.

At the meeting, the Indonesian Ministry of Investment, represented by the Director of Promotion for the Americas and Europe, Sri Endang Novitasari along with the team and the Bulgarian side, was attended by potential investors from Bella founder, Dmitrios Vitzilious.

The meeting is a follow-up to the Bulgarian shareholders in visiting the Nusantara in April 2022 with Ambassador Iwan. The Bulgarian side wants to invest in the Archipelago.

For now, Bulgaria plans to allocate an investment of USD 50 million (equivalent to Rp. 744 billion) for the development of the renewable energy sector and the food and beverage industry supply chain in the Archipelago Capital.

"Short-term investment is very interesting in helping the development of the archipelago and does not rule out the possibility that our group can invest in the long term," said Dmitrios, quoted from a press release by the Indonesian Embassy in Sofia, Sunday, 11 June 2023.

Meanwhile, Sri Endang said, the Indonesian Ministry of Investment very much welcomed the wishes of potential Bulgarian investors. According to him, this provides several investment opportunities along with incentives such as tax holidays which can be used as a benchmark in attracting the interest of potential investors.

Ambassador Iwan said his counterpart was very serious in doing business with Indonesia.

"The business penetration that we have carried out since the beginning has actively contributed to advancing economic growth in the country, starting from exports of coconut flour, eyelashes, textiles to outbound investment in the development of Indonesian food factories in Bulgaria," he said.

At the end of the meeting, Bulgarian investors signed a memorandum of understanding and a letter of intent regarding their interest in investing in Indonesia. (Kevin Schreiber)
