Jakarta: President Joko Widodo revealed a number of assistance from the Indonesian Government for the Palestinian people. Assistance is tailored to the needs of the Palestinian people.
"For example, drinking water purifiers there have a lot of difficulties regarding clean water, we are preparing this," said President Jokowi at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, Saturday, November 4 2023.
A number of medical equipment was also distributed to hospitals in Gaza. Apart from that, there are foodstuffs, blankets and tents.
President Jokowi said the total aid for the first stage was 51.5 tons. Further assistance is being prepared.
The Head of State said this assistance was not only from the government. There were donations from Baznas, Indonesian Red Cross, Kitabisa, TNI-Polri, and others.
"We hope that there will be more assistance from the community and the business world," he explained.
President Jokowi emphasized that the distribution of this aid is a form of Indonesia's solidarity with Palestine. This humanitarian tragedy is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately.
"I want to emphasize again that Indonesia continues to be with the struggle of the Palestinian people," he said.
