Jakarta: The Bandung city government today revealed that as many as 117 government workers in the capital city of West Java Province contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19).
"As many as 1,900 people have been tested and 117 of them are positive," the Bandung City Covid-19 Task Force coordinator Ahyani Raksanagara said here on Monday.
According to her, The 117 government workers come from several government institutions and district offices in Bandung City. Most of them are asymptomatic. They are currently undergoing self-quarantine for 14 days.
"If they are asymptomatic, they can undergo self-quarantine at their home," the official stated.
On Monday, the Indonesian Ministry of Health announced 2,880 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 196,989.
From Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries rose by 2,077 to 140,652. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths increased by 205 to 8,130.
