Ministry of Home Affairs Proposes 5 Priority Bills 2020-2024

Jakarta: The Ministry of Home Affairs proposes five drafts that are included in the list of discussions on the Priority Draft Bill (RUU) for 2020-2024. Discussion on the draft bill is expected to be complete.
 
"First, the bill on amendment on population administration number 23 of 2006. This is different from the title that was submitted by the House of Representatives (DPR) Priority 2020 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) proposal. Our proposal is somewhat different. The emphasis is on population administration," said Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian at the Parliamentary Complex, Central Jakarta on Wednesday January 22, 202.
 
Second, the amendment bill No. 21 of 2001 concerning the Special Autonomy of the Province of Papua. Tito said that this law was important to be resolved immediately.

"We also want it to be prioritized because the law which is valid for 20 years will be completed in 2021 so that there is no other time to discuss it if not in 2020," he said.
 
Third, the proposed Bill on Amendment to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections. Tito said that this bill was still a package with the Political Party Law.
 
Fourth, the amendment bill No. 29 of 2007 concerning DKI as the Capital of the Republic of Indonesia was put into Prolegnas 2020-2024. There are also proposals for regional aspirations regarding the Political Parties Bill and the Bali Province Bill.
 
"Then, we hope to be able to openly enter into a cumulative draft bill on the provinces of West Sumatra, Jambi, West, Central and West Kalimantan," he said.
 
Fifth, the Draft Bill on Amendment to Law Number 2 of 2008 concerning Political Parties. The revision of the political party law was recommended by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Mainly related to political party funds.
