Jakarta: The National Police has confirmed that six suspected terrorists who were caught in East Java province are the members of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) terror group.
The suspects have only been identified with their initials: HS, BL, KJW, S, IPS and YT.
HS and BL were caught in Sampang and Lamongan respectively on August 22. They are JAD leaders in their respective regions.
KJW, S and IPS were caught in the city of Blitar on the next day. They are members of JAD's cell in the city.
"HS is the leader of JAD's cell in Madura. BL is the leader of JAD's cell in Lamongan," National Police spokesperson Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo said here on Monday.
The Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror (Densus 88) arrested YT in the city of Madiun on Saturday. He is also accused of robbing a jewellery shop in Magetan earlier this year.
"The last arrest occurred on August 24. Densus 88 arrested YT alias Nukud," the Police official said.
