Jakarta: Police tightened security around the Medan Police headquarters in North Sumatra province after a sucide bombing incident occured in the location.
According to Metro TV contributor Arizal, after the incident, visitors must be strictly checked prior to entering the area of the headquarters.
“Currently, the protection around the area has been really tightened. There is currently only one access door provided. On the other words, every visitor who wishes to enter must be strictly checked first," he said.
The bomb reportedly exploded near a crowded area. Many people gathered at the Medan Police headquarters to get police clearance certicificates (SKCK).
The incident occurred at around 09:00 AM West Indonesia Time (WIB). The police are still investigating the case.
“Until now, we have yet to know the perpetrator’s real motive behind this malicious act.” said Arizal.
The attack at least injured six people bystanders. The pertetrator wore an online transportation uniform which allowed him to enter into the headquarters easily. (Translator: Muhammad Gestinev)
