"So this afternoon at around 1:00 a.m. at Jalan Raya Bulak Sentul Harapan Jaya, Bekasi, a team from the anti-terror Densus 88 arrested one suspect in the crime of terrorism who was arrested in relation to an ISIS supporter," said Karopenmas Mabes Polri Headquarters Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to Metro TV, Monday, 14 August 2023.
Ramadhan explained that the suspect was actively carrying out propaganda on social media by calling for jihad. The suspect also invited to pay allegiance to the ISIS leader.
"The initials were DE, so there was a post on Facebook as well as a digital poster in the form of an update text to pledge allegiance to ISIS leaders," Ramadhan explained.
From the results of the arrest, he was in possession of an improvised firearm. These weapons are being investigated by the Densus 88 Team.
"Currently the Densus team is still investigating related weapons," he said.

Head of local neighbourhood Harapan Jaya Urban Village, North Bekasi District, Bekasi City Ichwanul Muslimin said the man who was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-Terror Police Headquarters in the raid was an employee of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)."Working days as an employee of BUMN, KAI. I rarely interact with him," said Ichwanul in Bekasi, Monday, August 14, 2023.
He said the man arrested had the initials DE and was around 28 years old. DE is known to be introverted but always active in meetings and activities around the house.
"That's why we don't think (terrorist affiliation). But we rarely talk at length," he said.
Ichwanul also said that the raid was carried out on Monday afternoon, August 14 2023. According to him, shortly before the raid he was notified by members of the police regarding the intended activity.
"The perpetrators were already taken (during the raid), so when the raids were carried out I did not see the perpetrators," he said.
It is known that the Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror Team from the National Police arrested a terrorist suspect in Bekasi City. "Yes, it is true that a terrorist suspect has been arrested," said Karo Penmas, the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to media crew in Jakarta, Monday.
Ramadhan has not explained in detail regarding the arrest, but from the information gathered, the special detachment with the owl symbol arrested one suspected terrorist.
