Indonesia Logs 3,622 New Covid-19 Cases, 4,140 Recoveries

Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force today confirmed 3,622 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 307,120.
 
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients across Indonesia was up by 4,140 to 232,593.
 
Meanwhile, in the same period, the official covid-19 death toll in the country rose by 102 to 11,253.

On Saturday, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that there are still rooms for improvement to handle the covid-19 pandemic.
 
The Indonesian Government has previously launched a number of policies to protect and ease the citizen’s burden due to the covid-19 pandemic and its economic impacts.
 
A budget of Rp239.53 trillion has been disbursed to support these policies, particularly for the social protection cluster.
 
The funds are manifested into various programs, such as the PKH (Hope Family Program), the BPNT (Non-Cash Food Assistance), the Staple Food, the BST (Cash Social Assistance), the Pre-Employment Cards, the Village Fund, the Productive Presidential Assistance for Working Capital, the salary subsidies, and electricity discounts.
