Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has signed the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number Number 99 Year 2020 concerning Vaccine Procurement and Vaccination Implementation in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Perpres regulates the procurement, purchase, and distribution process of vaccines, as well as the implementation of vaccination programs.
"The amount and the types of the vaccines are determined by Minister of Health after considering advice from the Covid-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Comittee," Article 2 of the Perpres reads.
To tackle the spread of the virus in the country, the Government, coordinated by Ministry of Health, has also prepared a Roadmap for the National Plan for the Implementation of Covid-19 Immunization
On Wednesday, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed as many as 4.538 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases across Indonesia to 315,714.
From Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered covid-19 patients was up by 3,854 to 240,291, while the official covid-19 death toll rose by 98 to 11,472.
