Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Monday confirmed 3,509 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 278,722.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries in the country increased by 3,856 to 206,870.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths across Indonesia was up by 87 to 10,473.
Earlier today, Covid-19 Handling Task Force Head Doni Monardo proposed the inclusion of Bali and Aceh provinces within the central government's priority list.
"We have advised the president to add two more provinces," Doni said here on Monday.
The Indonesian government is currently focusing on flattening the covid-19 infection curve in several provinces with the highest transmission rates, namely Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and Papua.
