Jakarta: Local authorities have reviewed the implementation of health protocols in around 900 companies in West Jakarta Municipality since March.
"As of today, we have conducted impromptu visits to around 900 companies in West Jakarta," West Jakarta Manpower and Transmigration Agency Head Ahmad Ayala said here on Wednesday.
"Around 180 companies have been temporarily closed down for violating health protocols," he added.
According to the local official, if a company refuses to temporarily shut down its office, the company will be fined.
On Tuesday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,071 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 252,923.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Monday noon to Tuesday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries increased by 3,501 to 184,298.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the covid-19 death toll rose by 160 to 9,837.
