7.1 Magnitude Quake Shakes North Maluku

Jakarta: A magnitude 7.1 earthquake shook North Mauluku Province on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 03.49 PM Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
 
According to a report from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the strong earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.
 
With a depth of 112 kilometers, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 89 kilometers northwest of Daruba, Morotai, North Maluku province.

The quake was felt in a number of regions in North Maluku and North Sulawesi provinces, including Morotai, Manado, Bitung, Minahasa, Ternate, Sitaro, Tahuna, Talaud dan Bolaang Mongondow.
