A total of 1,437 residents of Dampala Village and 800 inhabitants of Leelee Village were affected by the flooding.
PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) has deployed heavy equipment on Monday to help clear the deluge of mud and debris carried by the floodwaters, Slamet Panggabean, senior vice president of PT IMIP, stated here on Tuesday.
The company also offered assistance in making rafts for transporting people residing in areas where the natural disaster had destroyed the bridges.
"We will certainly offer whatever help we can," he noted.
Panggabean stated that PT IMIP's operations remain unaffected by the flooding, as most of its employees reside in areas in proximity to the company.
