Jakarta: The Central Government plans to establish a special task force in order to prevent civil servants from being exposed to radical ideas.

According to Religious Affairs Minister Fachrul Razi, radicalism is considered to be the biggest and the most apparent threat in the country.

“Basically, the task force will gather reports. Later, they will summon the officials to be given advice," the minister said here on Thursday, November 21, 2019.

If they are still exposed to radical ideologies, extra sanctions will be imposed on them," the retired Army general added.

Fachrul revealed that the concept is still being discussed. He claimed that the task force can be established in every government agency.

“The sanctions imposed are based on the extent of their mistake,” he noted.

According to Fachrul, the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform alongside with other relevant institutions and ministries has signed on the mutual decision letter (SKB) to combat the spread of radical views among civil servants. (Translator: Muhammad Gestinev)
