Aceh: A 6.4 magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Sinabang, Simeulue, Aceh on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. The earthquake did not trigger tsunami warnings.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake occurred at 13.03 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). With a depth of 13 kilometers, the epicenter was located 24 kilometers southwest of Sinabang.
The earthquake was also felt in Tapak Tuan, Singkil, Gunung Sitoli, Nias Utara, Medan, Nias Barat and Meulaboh. There are still no reports of casualties or damage.
