Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) presided over the 75th anniversary ceremony for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday morning.
"The anniversary is not only commemorated by TNI members but also all elements of society in Indonesia," President Jokowi said.
During the event, the president was accompanied by TNI Commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad) General Andika Perkasa, Chief od Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Kasal) Yudo Margono, and Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (Kasau) Air Chief Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo.
In addition, the event was also attended by First Lady Iriana Widodo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD as well as Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto.
To tackle the spread of covid-19, every participant implemented strict health protocols, including wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance.
"TNI continues to support Indonesian people, especially during the ongoing covid-19 pandemic," President Jokowi said.
