Jakarta: The NasDem Party has urged the government to immediately issue the derivatives of the newly-signed Law Number 11/2020 on Job Creation.

"It is useless without its goovernment regulations and presidential regulations," NasDem Party deputy chairman Ahmad Ali told Medcom.id here on Tuesday.

"Indonesia needs to attract more investment because it is currently facing the covid-19 pandemic. This law is expected to boost national economic recovery. So, we can immediately escape from this crisis," he explained.

The historic law was signed by President Jokowi on Monday. The government is currently formulating the derivatives of the omnibus law. Officials are expected to complete the tasks in three months.

The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) passed the Omnibus Bill on Job Creation last month. Except for the Democratic Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), all parties supported the passing of the bill. However, it was strongly opposed by labor unions and civil society groups.

"If the derivatives are issued, maybe the protests will be gone, he stated.
