Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito said today Jakarta Capital Special Region registered 1,133 new covid-19 cases and 1,105 new covid-19 recoveries.
"However, today, it also recorded 1,105 new covid-19 recoveries," the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force official said here on Wednesday.
On Wednesday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 4,465 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total nummber of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 257,388.
From Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of covid-19 recoveries in the country increased by 3,660 to 187,958, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths rose by 140 to 9,977.
Earlier this month, to tackle the spread of covid-19, the Jakarta Provincial Government decided to reintroduce Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) in the special capital region.
In addition, the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council are currently formulating a regional regulation (perda) that will stipulate punishments for people who violate covid-19 health protocols.
