Tahuna: One person died while one went missing as a flash flood struck dozens of houses in Lebo Village, Manganitu, Sangihe Islands, North Sulawesi on early Friday, January 3, 2019.
"One resident was killed and another resident Armando Makananging, 18, is still missing," Sangihe Islands Regent Jabes Ezar Gaghana remarked after a visit to the location.
According to the regent, Bartolomeus Mangape, 83, a resident of Lebo Village, died in the flash flood. Meanwhile, seven other residents sustained injuries in the incident.
"The injured victims were treated at the Manganitu public health center," he added.
