Jakarta: The DPR passed the Revision of Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning National Capital (IKN) into Law (UU). The majority of factions supported the ratification.
"Based on the report from the Chairman of Commission II DPR RI that there are seven factions, namely the PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, NasDem, PKB, PAN and PPP factions, approved the Bill concerning Amendments to Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning the National Capital (IKN) to continue with level II discussions in today's plenary session to be passed into law," said Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, in the plenary session, at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 3 2023.
Dasco said that as many as two other factions expressed different views on the ratification plan at this plenary meeting. The Democratic Party provided notes on the revision and PKS rejected the ratification of the IKN Law.
"The Democratic faction agreed with the notes that the bill would be carried out in level II discussions to be passed into law. Meanwhile, the PKS rejected the bill to be continued in today's plenary session," said Dasco.
Then Dasco asked for approval from the meeting participants regarding the ratification of the revision of the IKN Law into law. The meeting participants also gave their approval.
"Agreed," said the meeting participants.
This ratification meeting was attended by three DPR leaders, namely Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Rachmat Gobel and Lodewijk F Paulus. Previously, Commission II of the DPR agreed to bring the revision of the IKN Law to plenary on Tuesday, September 19 2023.
