Banjarnegara Hit by 25 Landslides since Early January 2019: Official

Banjarnegara: Some 25 landslides affected Banjarnegara Regency in Central Java Province since early January 2020, a local official stated.
 
According to Banjarnergara Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) acting head Arief Rahman, the landslides struck several locations, including in the Sikelir hike, Wanyasa; Sumberjo Road in Pejawaran; and a residential area in Sipreng Hamlet in Kalibening.
 
Furthermore, a cliff landslide hit Ratamba road and several other roads in Karangkobar area.

"A total 25 landslides have struck since early January 2020," he remarked here on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
 
He noted that five areas in Banjarnegara were prone to landslides during the rainy season. They are Wanayasa, Banjarmangu, Susukan, Pagentan, and Punggelan
 
In the meantime, the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) recorded that flash floods and landslides in early January 2020 had claimed no less than 60 lives on Java Island. (Antara)
