Jakarta: The National Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Thursday confirmed 4,634 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 262,022.
From Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries was up by 3,895 to 191,853, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths was up by 128 to 10,105.
Meanwhile, the government has constantly reminded people who often flout health protocols of the potential risk of being exposed to covid-19.
Several factors can increase the spread of the covid-19 virus in the community, namely crowded places, people who are within 1-1.5 meters, poor air circulation and long interaction with other people in a closed room.
Under those conditions, if someone is not wearing a face mask, the droplets from other people’s nose and mouth can stick to the skin and are inhaled into the respiratory system.
To that end, people have been repeatedly encouraged to strictly implement health protocols by wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distance and washing hands since those are the keys to suppressing the virus transmission.
