Minister Orders Government Agencies to Establish Covid-19 Crisis Centers

Jakarta: Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Tjahjo Kumolo has ordered all government agencies to establish covid-19 crisis centers.
 
"Every government agency is ordered to strengthen its covid-19 handling team," said the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) politician in a written statemnt on Friday.
 
According to the minister, the policy is needed to tackle the spread of covid-19 in government offices. The move is based on Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform's Circular Letter Number 69 Year 2020. 

Since the begining of covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, the Indonesian Ministry of Health has detected 1,146 covid-19 clusters in Indonesia. Some of them are government office clusters.
 
On Friday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Handling Task Force announced 4,823 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia to 266,845.
 
From Thursday noon to Friday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries was up by 4,343 to 196,196, while the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths was up by 113 to 10,218.
